Donald Attah

He is a consummate lawyer with significant practical experience providing legal advisory support to diverse clients across the Energy and Infrastructure sector. Over the years, he has played a key role in advising on high-stakes transactions and regulatory compliance matters within the oil and gas industry. Notably, Donald provided strategic legal counsel to a multinational company on the Bonga Deepwater Offshore Project, one of Nigeria's pioneering deepwater oil and gas developments. In this role, he played a critical part in navigating complex legal and commercial issues, including advising on fiscal, regulatory and dispute resolution mechanisms. His responsibilities also encompassed assessing risk allocation, ensuring compliance with extant Nigerian laws, and providing comprehensive contractual review.

Before joining Jackson, Etti and Edu, he worked as a Legal Officer at an indigenous oil and gas company, wherein he handled several transactions, including advising the company on the financing and sale of oil and gas assets, drafting and reviewing Oil Servicing Agreements, Technical Partnership Agreements, among others. Donald has a passion for writing on topical industry developments, some of which border on the Petroleum Industry Act, Local Content in the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry, and developments in the Nigerian power sector.

While his legal expertise spans multiple areas of law and practice, he has a particular interest in Oil and Gas, Power, and Infrastructure. His professional experience has equipped him with a well-rounded skill set, including exceptional leadership and interpersonal abilities, and he is committed to delivering results.

He is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association and the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators (AIPN).
